Information for Prospective Students
I teach using the Suzuki Method for younger students (usually ages 4-11). Please read about what to expect from Suzuki Method lessons with me. I will of course tailor my teaching to each student's needs so please let me know about any specific issues or goals you may have. For older students (ages 12 through adult), I often still use the Suzuki books because they offer an excellent way to learn new skills in a logical order while playing great pieces, but I combine that with a more traditional approach. For example, I encourage learning to read music much earlier than with Suzuki Method, and parents (if applicable) do not need to be as involved in lessons or home practice. I teach in the Cultural Center, where you can take dance, visual art, and music lessons all in the same building! Group classes, which are included in lesson tuition, take place every other Thursday in addition to weekly private lessons. Please read about my tuition and policies.
